Our Ireland 2017

                                                                      Our Ireland
Liam Costelloe born in  Galway and  living in Westport has exhibited at the Galway Fringe,  Galway 1916, the Dock and Leitrim Sculpture Centre. His solo exhibitions include  ‘New Beginnings’  ‘Easter 2010’, ‘New Foundation’, ‘Classroom Installation‘ and ‘The Truths We Aren’t Told’.  Working in mixed and multimedia his work encompasses  painting, installation and performance through which he examines and questions  our short history as a Republic, in  search of a new vision of Ireland.  Dedicated to  the restoration of the  Golden Rule of Law, this selection of works from 2009 to 2017 shines a light on injustice, deception and lack of moral  interception in Our Ireland with respect to banking, politics, courts, suicide, eviction and homelessness.

 1. Kiss of Silence, acrylic on canvas, 2010.

2. Papal Bull, Unam Sanctam, acrylic and wax on canvas, 2013.
This bull was  issued by Pope Boniface VIII  in 1302.  It  created the first   Express Trust claiming control over the whole planet, effectively making the pope  "king of the world."
Today's contract law.

3. Sovereign Ireland,  broken unfired clay, 2012.

4. The de Valero Code, info graphic, inkjet on paper, 2013.
A work of art, by my good friend who wishes to remain silent at this time.  Without his input, the P.D.F. notice  would not carry the weight  that it  does.

 5.  B.I.S. - Bank for International Settlement - Following the Money, collage-news paper cuttings, glue and acrylic on canvas, 2013

 6.  Sam and Nuala, collage on paper, 2009.
Samuel Beckett  and  Nuala Costello. Nuala from Tuam, Co. Galway  was my great aunt. She met Sam in Paris through James Joyce's daughter Lucia. She was an important part of Sam's life. It was through Nuala that I inherited my family crest, and this started my interest in my family history and the cultural and political life of the country.

 7.  Dunce,  wire mesh, newspaper, turf, straw, wood and step ladder stool, 2012.

 8.  Blackboard History of Ireland, diptych, collage, news paper cuttings, glue and acrylic on wall paper, 2012.

9. In Honour of Bank and Church-The Octagon, acrylic on paper 2013.

10.   The Golden Sun,  oil on canvas, 2017.

 11.   Dwelling,  egg tempera on paper, 2016.

12.  Eagle Mountain, egg tempera on paper, 2016.

13.   Golden Rule P.D.F. - Signed,  Sealed and Delivered.
Through Maura Harrington’s voice we read the Golden Rule P.D.F. (Peoples Defence File) Notice in  Irish into the court of public record on 23rd November 2015 in front of Fintan J. Murphy Sr. County Registrar and witnessed by superintendent Joe Mc Kenna.
We have established by Decree that the P.D.F. is proven, and has full authority and jurisdiction as a moral force and governance as a canon in law.
email Liam for a copy of Golden Rule P.D.F.

Pope Francis’ said in his speech given to Congress on the 24th Day of September 2015
“Let us remember the Golden Rule: ‘Do unto others as you would have them do unto you’ (Mt 7:12).
“This Rule points us in a clear direction.  Let us treat others with the same passion and compassion with which we want to be treated. Let us seek for others the same possibilities which we seek for ourselves. Let us help others to grow, as we would like to be helped ourselves. In a word, if we want security, let us give security; if we want life, let us give life; if we want opportunities, let us provide opportunities. The yardstick we use for others will be the yardstick which time will use for us. The Golden Rule also reminds us of our responsibility to protect and defend human life at every stage of its development.”

I feel that this part of our society has not been addressed. I'm not looking for inquiries because each one of us who was educated by one of the above knows of somebody who was abused by beating, mental torture and so on. So let us stand up and say we've had enough of church and state 2009, because I know I have. They talk of reform but to me it’s just talk. We need to pull the roots of these two organizations and start afresh. And that also means the other political parties as they are not much better.
